This was a particularly fun engagement pictures session because I know these two so well! \u00a0I knew them as kids, then as teens, did both they senior pictures, watched a young romance grow and now these super special engagement photos! \u00a0The first sets we chose to do were \u00a0in dressier clothes and in a pretty green setting with lots of trees. \u00a0Yes, that’s unusual in North Dakota, especially in the Hazen area where there is a lot of farming. \u00a0But there are a few secret gems of places that give us that forested look. \u00a0The challenge? \u00a0The mosquitos and ticks! \u00a0We got this portion done quickly, laughed as we did a tick check when we got back to the cars and moved on. \u00a0But it was so well worth it – these are probably my favorites of the evening! \u00a0I love the greens and the little bits of red thrown in for contrast. \u00a0I really do love color! \u00a0Their North Dakota country wedding is going to use some of these same colors and its going to be gorgeous! \u00a0Definitely stay tuned to see those come summer!<\/p>\n

The next spot was their idea, close to Dakota’s family’s new country home with the rolling fields and dirt roads in the backgrounds. \u00a0I think Dakota’s favorites come from this bunch. \u00a0I love how easy these two are with each other. \u00a0 It was so easy to get a variety of looks from fun and laughing to intimate and romantic. \u00a0I can’t decide which I like best as each time I look I find a new favorite. \u00a0A quick change of clothes to more casual jeans but that hint of red in Dakota’s shoes made the perfect ending. \u00a0Love how that little bit of red carried through, making an overall cohesive look – I am imagining how a wedding guest book will look, showing off this great young couple! \u00a0Winter has just begun, and I can hardly wait for summer wedding season!<\/p>\n
