Unique Senior Portraits – North Dakota Senior Pictures

Hailey is a transplant to Minot, North Dakota from Washington state.  But she isn’t a stranger to ND.  No, she has been here before and got to know one of our local elk ranchers.  And quite an impression those animals made as she made the effort to get back in touch with Dwight Gross at his ranch, Red Butte Wapiti, and  arrange for us to take some of her senior pictures with these magnificent animals!  If you have read through any of my other posts, you know that I especially enjoy going to new places and places that are special to the seniors themselves.  But this was completely new to me.  Even though these animals are on a ranch, they are wild animals, and they are huge!  Really, you don’t understand just how huge they are until you are right up close!  I have to say, I was pretty nervous.  But, obviously, Hailey was not.  She was thrilled and excited and completely relaxed around the animals.  Dwight drove us out to a nice pasture, dropped some feed, and in they all came -even the big bull!  It took everything I had to stay still when that big guy made his way over the bucket that was sitting only about 10 feet from me!   I think I was gripping the mono pod so hard, my fingerprints are still in the handle.

I have to put these at the top of my most unique senior sessions ever!

After spending some time with the elk and then getting my composure back, we found some other pretty locations in the sunset to finish off Hailey’s session.  Showing her tattoo was important to Hailey, as is was a special thing shared between her and her mother.  Then just some fun ones with a rusty old truck for some variety and texture and we had some great memories from Hailey’s senior year.

Above is Hailey’ s Senior Block, a collage of her favorite photos, bevel mounted and with an easel back to easily display on a table of shelf.   Order it as part of the Senior Super Saver Collection for added discounts.
